Through the lighting of a memorial candle, your thoughtful gesture will be recorded in the Book of Memories and the proceeds will go directly towards helping ensure that the family and friends of Rose Vallario can continue to memorialize, re-visit, interact with each other and enhance this tribute for future generations.

Obituary for Rose M. Vallario

Rose M.  Vallario
Rose M. Vallario passed away peacefully at home in Wethersfield with her family by her side on November 17, 2014. Born on July 27, 1917 in Hartford to Laura (Mascalo) and Joseph Vallario. Ro Ro (as she was affectionately known by her nieces and nephews) lived most of her life in Hartford and in her later years she resided in Wethersfield. She was retired from the Defense Logistic Agency of the Federal Government after 28 years of service. Family was very important to her. In her retired years she spent many of evenings with her Sisters going to dinner and playing cards. Family referred to them as the “Golden Girls”. She is survived by several nieces and nephews, including Laurie and Richard Garini of Enfield, James and Dona Berry of West Hartford and Jodi and Kevin O’Leary of West Hartford. Ro was predeceased by her eight brothers and sisters, Ann Morano, Sister Mary Laurinda Vallario, Peter Vallario, Josephine Manzone, Daniel Vallario, Mildred Serignese, Margaret Berry and Jennie Smith. She was also predeceased by a niece and nephew ,who were more like siblings, Grace Davies and William Morano. The family would like to extend special thanks to Antoinette Seaberry from the VNA for her loving care during her final days. Funeral procession will be Thursday, 10:30 am from the Sheehan Hilborn Breen Funeral Home, 1084 New Britain Ave., West Hartford, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 am in Our Lady of Sorrows Church, Hartford. Burial will be in Rose Hill Memorial Park, Rocky Hill. Calling hours will be prior to the procession from 9:15 to 10:30 am at the funeral home.Donations may be made in Ro’s memory to Our Lady of Sorrows “Roof fund” or “youth group”. 39 Grace Street, Hartford, CT 06106.
