Obituary for Llewellyn Roscoe Anderson

Llewellyn Roscoe Anderson
It is with great sadness that the family of Llewellyn Roscoe Anderson, beloved husband of Elizabeth Ahlgren Anderson of Hartford, Connecticut, announces his passing on December 25, 2015. Born in Stockholm, Maine, he was the second of four children born to Roscoe Anderson and Nellie Bourgoin Anderson. Llewellyn attended school in Stockholm and then proudly served in the United States Air Force during the Korean Conflict from 1952-1953. Besides his wife Betty, he leaves his two children, his son Eric Anderson of Andover and Eric’s girlfriend Michele Bravo of Vernon; his daughter Barbara Lynne Jacques and her husband Nelson Jacques of Tolland; his three grandchildren, Victoria Anderson of Andover, Kathryn Jacques and her boyfriend Gregory Sarkozy of New Britain, Laura Badecker and her husband Rocco Badecker of Vernon; one great-grand-daughter, Violet Badecker of Vernon; and a special family friend, Rita Gesuele of Andover. He was predeceased by his brother Clinton Anderson of Clearwater, Florida and he is survived by his two sisters, Alereen Phillips of San Antonio, Texas, and Jacqueline Bouchard of Sarasota, Florida, as well as many nieces and nephews. Llewellyn was a dedicated employee of General Electric, Plainville, for over 35 years and a member of Emanuel Lutheran Church, Hartford. A well-read, self-educated man with a strong interest in history, his blue eyes lit up over a good joke. His interests and hobbies were many: gardening, writing, drawing, reading, cooking, playing the harmonica, making welded art pieces, tinkering, hob-nailing, decorating for special days such as Halloween and Christmas, taking in abandoned pets, and feeding birds and other wildlife. Friends and family may gather on Saturday (Jan. 2), from 9:30-11:00 a.m. at the Sheehan-Hilborn-Breen Funeral Home, 1084 New Britain Avenue, West Hartford, with a funeral service beginning at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Interment will immediately follow the service at Cedar Hill Cemetery, 453 Fairfield Avenue, Hartford, CT. The family has suggested that memorial donations be made to St. Jude’s Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105. Online condolences may be made at www.SheehanHilbornBreen.com.
