Obituary for Robert F. "Bob" Hill Jr.

Robert "Bob" F. Hill Jr., of West Hartford, passed away suddenly on Friday, (April 15, 2016) evening. Robert was born in Worchester, MA on December 22, 1932, but West Hartford was his home for over 50 years. Robert served as a Private First Class in the United States Army, and received an honorable discharge for his service. Afterwards, he worked for the Balf Trucking Company from which he eventually retired from. He was known around the neighborhood as the man who always looked after everyone’s dog. Robert is survived by his wife, Joan (McCaffrey) Hill, and their three daughters and spouses; Linda and Eddie McKernan of East Windsor, Kimberly and John Simmons of Enfield, and Michelle and Justin Hallenbeck of Tolland. Robert also leaves behind four grandchildren; Edward Thomas, Kellie, and Nicholas McKernan, and Lucas Hallenbeck. He also leaves behind his faithful companion Sparky. Calling hours will be held on Thursday, April 21, 2016 from 4-7pm at the Sheehan-Hilborn-Breen Funeral Home, 1084 New Britain Ave. West Hartford.
