Obituary for Antonio P Rodrigues
Antonio P. Rodrigues, 79, of East Hartford, husband of the late Ilda (Pestana) Rodrigues, passed away at his home on Thursday, June 16, 2016. Born in Santos Evos Viseu, Portugal, son of the late Graciano and Antonia Da Conceição Rodrigues, he came to America in the 1960’s to pursue “the American Dream.”
Antonio was successful in creating a better life for his family in America. He was known for his strong work ethic, which began at an early age in Portugal and continued when he came to the United States. For many years, Tony owned and operated Antonio Rodrigues Paving Co. and up until the time of his death, he was an established owner of multiple investment properties in Hartford’s Parkville area. He was strong in his faith and a dedicated member of Our Lady of Fatima Church, Hartford. Tony is survived by his daughter Karen LeBlanc and her husband Conrad of West Hartford; four granddaughters, Jennifer Sneeringer and her husband, Brett of Reading, PA, Nicole Gomes and her husband Jamie of Newington, Kristine Arons and her husband Josh of Plainville, and Caitlyn LeBlanc of West Hartford; five great-grandchildren, Olivia, Jake and Benjamin Sneeringer of Reading, PA, and Morleigh and Levi Arons of Plainville. He is also survived by his two sisters, Conceição Almeida of South Windsor and Maria Da Piedade Santos of Hartford; two brothers, Silvestre Rodrigues of West Hartford and Adelino Rodrigues of Meriden. He was predeceased by his sisters, Adalia Garcia, Leonor Rodrigues; and his brothers, Jose Rodrigues and Manuel Pereira. Funeral procession will be Friday, (June 24), 9:00 am from the Sheehan Hilborn Breen Funeral Home, 1084 New Britain Ave., West Hartford followed by a Mass of Christian Burial 10:00 am at Our Lady of Fatima Church, Hartford. Burial will be in Cedar Hill Cemetery, Hartford. Calling hours will be Thursday, (June 23), from 5 to 8 pm at the funeral home.
