Thomas J Fay
Thomas J. Fay of West Hartford, passed away peacefully on September 10, 2016, at the age of 73, surrounded by his family after a courageous battle with cancer that he waged with grace and a positive attitude. He will be missed and loved always by his wife of 48 years, Patricia Peth Fay; his daughter, Michelle Fay Galvin and her husband, John W. Galvin of Sandy Spring, MD; his son, Thomas J. Fay, Jr., and his wife, Elizabeth E. Fay of West Hartford; five grandchildren: Samantha, Brendan and Declan Galvin, Sean and Zachary Fay; his brother, Leland C. Fay, Jr. of Georgia; in-laws, Lawrence "Buddy" and Elaine Peth, and Michael and Nancy Peth; a niece and nephews of Chicago, Il. Thomas was born in Chicago, IL, the son of the late Leland C. and Mary (Sheehan) Fay, he graduated from Regis College in Denver, CO and received his MBA at Loyola University, Chicago, IL. He was involved in many youth activities, including Boy Scouts and sports. He found pleasure and peace in gardening and jazz music. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, (Sept. 15), 11:00 am at St. Peter Claver Church, 47 Pleasant St., West Hartford. Everyone is requested to meet at the church. Family and friends may call on Wednesday, (Sept. 14) from 4 to 7 pm at the Sheehan Hilborn Breen Funeral Home, 1084 New Britain Ave., West Hartford. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105. Online condolences may be made at www.SheehanHilbornBreen.com.
