Obituary for Kenneth J. Bradley

Kenneth J.  Bradley
Kenneth James Bradley, of West Hartford, CT, passed away peacefully on Thursday, November 3, 2016 at the age of 80 after a brief illness. Born in Hartford to the late Margaret and Francis Bradley, he attended local schools, and lived in Hartford until 1962 when he moved to West Hartford. He was a longtime and active member of St. Mark the Evangelist Church, where he was also a charter member of the Knights of Columbus. In addition, he was a member of the Bishop McMahon Knights of Columbus 4th degree assembly. He is predeceased by his brothers, Francis, Arthur, and Robert, and sisters, Ethel, Marguerite, and Lillian. Kenneth is survived by his beloved wife Julie, his son Kevin, and leaves behind many nephews, nieces, cousins, and friends. He worked for the U.S. Postal Service as a letter carrier, and upon retirement enjoyed many years of part-time work driving limousines for Hy's Livery service. He loved baseball, UConn basketball, puzzles, and word games of every kind. Kenneth also enjoyed spending time playing games with friends and family--cribbage and card games being his favorite. He will be fondly remembered for his joviality, kindness, and friendliness to everyone he met, his willingness to do favors for people in the community, and love for his family. Friends and family will be received on Sunday, November 6 from 4 to 6 p.m. at Sheehan-Hilborn-Breen Funeral Home, 1084 New Britain Ave., West Hartford, CT. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Mark the Evangelist Church at 467 South Quaker Lane in West Hartford, CT, on Monday, November 7, at 10 a.m. For those attending the funeral mass, it is requested they proceed directly to the church. There will be a private burial for family. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to St. Mark the Evangelist Church or the American Cancer Society, 825 Brook St, Rocky Hill, CT 06067.
