Harry J.  Botticello
Harry John Botticello, 97, died peacefully on Wednesday, January 11, 2017 at John Dempsey Hospital, Farmington, CT. He was born May 7, 1919, in Hartford, CT and lived in West Hartford for over 60 years. He was predeceased in death by his loving wife of 60 years, Mary F. (Perleoni) Botticello, and his parents Henry and Mary (Cardillicchio) Botticello. He was a member of the Church of St. Brigid in West Hartford. Harry was a veteran of World War II, where he served in the U.S. Army having participated in the European Theater, and was honorably discharged in 1946. After the War, he worked at Cushman Industries until his retirement. Harry is survived by his two sons, William Botticello and his wife, Susan, of West Hartford, Robert Botticello and his wife, Natalie, of Newington, a daughter, Jean Gianfriddo and her husband, Paul, of West Hartford; seven grandchildren, Byron Botticello, Marisa DeLuca and husband Thomas, Christopher Botticello, Nicole Botticello, Ryan Botticello and wife Shawna, Matthew Gianfriddo and Heather Gianfriddo; and three great-grandchildren, Isabella DeLuca, Gianna DeLuca and Jayce Botticello. He also leaves one sister, Columbia Botticello of Glastonbury and several brother and sister-in-laws, nieces and nephews. Harry was predeceased by three brothers, Pvt. Paul Botticello, Louis Botticello, Daniel Botticello and by four sisters, Carmella Gionfriddo, Concetta Hildebrand, Isabel Gionfriddo, Celia Barniak and sister-in-law Hilda Perleoni. Calling hours will be Friday, January 13, from 9-10:30 am at the Sheehan-Hilborn-Breen Funeral Home, 1084 New Britain Avenue, West Hartford with Mass of Christian Burial at the Church of St. Brigid at 11:00 am immediately following the calling hours. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery, West Hartford. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Harry’s name at the choice of the donor.
