Obituary for Vicente I. Araujo
Vicente I. Araujo, 75, of Hartford, beloved husband of Aldina C. (Bettencourt) Araujo, died Saturday, January 14, 2017 at home, surrounded by his family.
Born in Ceara, Brazil, son of the late Mandel I. Araujo and Maria Carlos Tavares, he was a resident of Hartford for over 40 years. Vicente was a talented carpenter, construction worker and painter. Besides his wife, he leaves a son, Paulo Carreiro and his wife, Darlene Cabral of Glastonbury and a daughter, Betty Cabral and her husband Frank Cabral of Hartford and three grandchildren, Brianna L. Himmel, Alyssa and Eric Carreiro. Vicente was predeceased by a daughter, Fatima Carreiro and also his in-laws, Honorato and Maria C. Bettencourt. Funeral procession will be Monday, (January 16), 9:00 am from the Sheehan Hilborn Breen Funeral Home, 1084 New Britain Ave., West Hartford, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial, 10:00 am at Our Lady of Fatima Church, Hartford. Burial will be private. Calling hours will be TODAY from 4 to 6 pm at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 825 Brook St, Rocky Hill, CT 06067.
