Maria R. Oliveira, 85, of Hartford, beloved wife of the late Joaquim M. Oliveira, passed away, surrounded by her family on Thursday, February 2, 2017 . She was born in Girabolhos, Portugal, daughter of the late Francisco Rebelo Fernandes and Maria Leonor de Assuncao and has resided in Hartford since 1970. Maria was a faithful member of Our Lady of Fatima Church, Hartford. She was a loving mother and grandmother and great- grandmother who loved cooking and gardening. She is survived by four daughters and their spouses, Maria Conceicao and Carlos Demelo of Windsor, Maria Fatima and Antonio Reyna of Rocky Hill, Maria Alcina and Richard Fillion of Middletown and Maria Lurdes and Gary Evonsion of Alpharetta, GA; two sons and their spouses, Joaquim and Luz Marques of South Windsor, Jose and Aimee Marques of Hebron; 17 grandchildren ; 10 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, Maria was predeceased by a son, Antonio Marques Oliveira and a her brothers and sister; Antonio, Manuel, Francisco and Emilia. Calling hours will be Sunday, (February 5), from 2 - 5 p.m. at Sheehan-Hilborn-Breen Funeral Home, 1084 New Britain Ave., West Hartford. The funeral procession will be Monday, ( February 6), at 9:00 a.m. from the funeral home, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial, celebrated at 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Fatima Church, Hartford. Interment will be at Cedar Hill Cemetery, Hartford. Donations in memory of Maria may be made to Our Lady of Fatima Church, Fatima Square, 50 Kane St., Hartford, 06106.
