Dorothy Helen Perzan, 91, of West Hartford and adopted resident of Austin, TX peacefully passed away on March 29, 2017. Born in Hartford, she resided in West Hartford for 78 years and in Austin, TX with her son for 13 years. Prior to her retirement, Dorothy owned and operated a real estate company for 35 years. She was the past president of the Greater Hartford Board of Realtors and the Connecticut Women’s Council of Realtors.
She was married to her late husband, Mitchell Perzan for 45 years. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and a great friend to many. She is survived by her two sons, James Michael Perzan and his wife Lisa P. Perzan of Austin, TX and Mitchell Carl Perzan and his wife Nancy A. Perzan of West Hartford, along with two granddaughters, Stacey Lynn Perzan and Jennifer Michelle Perzan, as well as, many loving nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brothers Edward Zongol, Chester Zongol, Victor Zongol, Joseph Zongol and her sisters Stephanie Kornacki, Jean Guinan and Wanda Wayler.
The funeral procession will be Thursday, (April 6), 9:15 a.m. from the Sheehan-Hilborn-Breen Funeral Home, 1084 New Britain Avenue, West Hartford followed by a Mass of Christian Burial celebrated at 10:00 a.m. in the Church of St. Timothy, West Hartford. Burial will be at the Fairview Cemetery, West Hartford. Calling hours will be Wednesday,( April 5), from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, please send contributions in Dorothy’s memory to the American Cancer Society, 825 Brook Street, Rocky Hill, CT 06067.
