John Joseph Quinn, 92, of West Hartford, beloved husband of Catherine “Kay” Flynn Quinn, died peacefully on Sunday, April 9th, 2017 at home surrounded by his loving family. He was born on June 27th, 1924, in Tullaughane, Ballyhaunis, County Mayo, Ireland, son of the late John and Mary Moran Quinn. John was married to the love of his life, Catherine “Kay” Flynn Quinn sixty-two years ago on November 27th, 1954. They moved to West Hartford in 1962. John worked at Travelers Insurance in the Printing Center for 38 years, retiring as Manager of the Rotary Unit, Printing Center. He was a member of St. Mark the Evangelist Church. Along with his wife, Catherine, of West Hartford he leaves his children, John Quinn and his wife Ellen of Milford, MA, Maureen Quinn Tarca and her husband Peter of Concord, MA, Eileen Quinn Brown, of Jacksonville, FL and her husband Joseph, Kevin Quinn and his wife Nancy of South Huntington, NY and Kathleen Quinn Votaw of Conifer, CO and her husband Andrew. His greatest passion was his fourteen grandchildren; Matthew Quinn and his wife Abby, Daniel Quinn, Conor Quinn and his wife Meghan, Patrick Quinn, Meaghan Quinn, Kevin Tarca, Casey Tarca, Elise Brown, Sean Brown, Brendan Quinn, Elizabeth Quinn, Kelly Quinn, Timmy Quinn and John Votaw; two great grandchildren, William and Thomas Quinn; sisters-in-law Mary Flemke, Winnie Chauvin, Bridie Quinn, brothers-in-law James Flynn and Michael Flynn and many nieces and nephews and friends. He was predeceased by his brothers, Patrick, Vincent, Edward and Michael.

Calling hours are Tuesday, April 11, 2017 from 4pm to 7pm at the Sheehan-Hilborn-Breen Funeral Home at 1084 New Britain Avenue, West Hartford, CT. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated, Wednesday, April 12 at 10 a.m., at St. Mark the Evangelist Church in West Hartford. Family requested everyone meet directly at church.

Burial will follow at Mount Saint Benedict Cemetery, Bloomfield.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to The Ron Foley Pancreatic Cancer Foundation, 1000 Farmington Avenue, West Hartford, CT 06107.
