Obituary for Dolores Marie Lynch (Cariglio)

Dolores Marie Cariglio Lynch passed away peacefully at the Mary Wade Home in New Haven, CT on May 22, 2017. She was 86. Born on April 3, 1931 in New Haven, she was the daughter of the late Catherine Panzero Cariglio and Pasquale Cariglio. She was also predeceased by her husband of over 50 years, Joseph Lynch, and her two older brothers, Thomas and Gustav Cariglio also predeceased her. Dolores graduated from Commercial High School in New Haven in 1949. Later in life, at age 51, she graduated with an Associates Degree in Science from Tunxis Community College, an accomplishment that she was quite proud of. Dolores enjoyed a long career as an Administrative Secretary at the Veteran’s Hospital in Newington. Though originally from New Haven, she lived most of her adult life in Elmwood. She was a long time parishioner of St. Brigid Catholic Church, attending daily mass for many years. Dolores and her husband Joe were avid Yankee fans and enjoyed Opera. Though Dolores never had children of her own, she was very involved with her many nieces and nephews, and their families, who loved her dearly. Additionally, Dolores was a mentor and sponsor to many in the ALANON community. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated TODAY at 10:00 am in St. Brigid Church, West Hartford. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery, West Hartford. Calling hour will be prior to the funeral mass from 8:30 to 9:30 am at the Sheehan Hilborn Breen Funeral Home, 1084 New Britain Ave., West Hartford.
