Obituary for Henry William Otte

Henry William  Otte
Henry “Hank” William Otte, of West Hartford, passed away on Saturday, July 29, 2017, at Hartford Hospital. Born in New Britain, on December 20, 1928, he was the son of the late Charles and Clara (Horton) Otte. He leaves his wife of 61 years, Irene (Reed) Otte; his daughter, Susan and her husband Brian Starsiak of Avon; and his grandson William. He was predeceased by his son, Jeffrey, brother David Otte and sister, Eleanor York. He also leaves many relatives from CT, MA, NH, VA and FL. He graduated from Hartford Public High School in 1948. Henry proudly served in the U.S. Marine Corps from 1948 to 1952 during the Korean War. Henry worked for ACME Welding and United Tool & Die Company in West Hartford for 57 years, retiring in 2009. Henry loved spending time with family and friends and always thought of others before himself. He will be loved and sadly missed always. Calling hours are Friday, August 4, from 4-7 p.m. at the Sheehan-Hilborn-Breen Funeral Home, 1084 New Britain Avenue, West Hartford, CT. His funeral procession will begin at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday, August 5, from the funeral home followed by a 10:00 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at the Church of St. Brigid, 1088 New Britain Avenue, West Hartford, CT. The burial with military honors will immediately follow at Fairview Cemetery, West Hartford, CT. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Marine Toys for Tots Foundation, 18251 Quantico Gateway Drive, Triangle, VA 22172 www.toysfortots.org.
