Fiorinda (DiCocco) Porretta, 98, of West Hartford, beloved wife of the late Ludovico "Luigi" Porretta; devoted grandmother to Leonard Cappuccitti of West Hartford and Anthony Cappuccitti and his wife, Maria of West Hartford and mohter to the late Delphine Cappuccitti, , died Saturday, September 16, 2017 at home. Born in Benwood, Virginia, she was raised in Sora, Italy and returning to Hartford in 1951. She was employed at the Royal Typewriter Co., and retired at the age of 62 to take care of her grandsons, living in West Hartford since 1954. She was a faithful communicant of St. Brigid Church, West Hartford. Fiorinda was predeceased by her brothers, Michael DiCocco, Rinaldo DiCocco and Giraldo DiCocco and a sister, Maria Donata Gemniti.
Funeral procession will be Thursday, (September 21), 10:30 am from the Sheehan Hilborn Breen Funeral Home, 1084 New Britain Ave., West Hartford followed by a Mass of Christian Burial, 11:00 am in St. Brigid Church, West Hartford. Burial will be in Cedar Hill Cemetery, Hartford. Calling hours are Thursday, prior to the funeral from 9:00 to 10;30 am at the funeral home.
