Through the lighting of a memorial candle, your thoughtful gesture will be recorded in the Book of Memories and the proceeds will go directly towards helping ensure that the family and friends of Jean Macri can continue to memorialize, re-visit, interact with each other and enhance this tribute for future generations.

Obituary for Jean Macri

Jean M. Macri, 86, peacefully went to be with the Lord, on September 22, 2017 at Autumn Lake Health Care of New Britain. She was born in Hartford on June 19, 1931 and was a member of the Religious Teachers Filippini until 1968 and taught in the Hartford Public Schools until her retirement in 1992. She spent her retirement years doing her favorite things, traveling, giving to the poor, camping and enjoying friends. Jean was a communicant of the Church of St. Helena, West Hartford and also attended Legacy Church in Farmington. Jean is survived by her best friend, Ann Romano; a sister-in-law, Beatriz Macri; several nieces; a nephew and several cousins. She was predeceased by her parents, Ralph Macri, Sr. and Mary (LoPrete) Macri; two brothers, Ralph Macri, Jr. and Robert Macri.
Calling hours will be Thursday, (Sept. 28), from 3 to 6 pm at the Sheehan Hilborn Breen Funeral Home, 1084 New Britain Ave., West Hartford. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, (Sept. 29), a 10:00 am at the Church of St. Helena, Echo Lane, West Hartford. In lieu of flowers, donations may be given in Jean's memory to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 or the South Park Inn Shelter, 75 Main St., Hartford, CT 06106.
