Obituary for Tyler Claflin

Tyler Claflin
Tyler Claflin, loving son, caring brother, and funny uncle went to be with his Lord Jesus on Thursday, October 26, 2017. Tyler was born on June 25, 1983 to Robert and Joan Claflin. He was a smart and delightful child who loved school and learning. Tyler graduated from Conard HS and went on to UCONN where he received both his BS and MS in Molecular Cell Biology. Medicine was his calling and in July 2007 he was commissioned as a Navy Officer and entered the Uniformed Services School of Medicine on the Walter Reed Campus in Bethesda Maryland. Tyler graduated with his medical degree in 2011 and stayed in Bethesda for his residency program. Tyler’s life changed at that point and his battle with multiple illnesses chased him for the rest of his living days. He worked hard to remain upbeat and focused on his health. Tyler loved his nephew, K.C., and his niece, Laila, and was an attentive uncle. Tyler was most happy when surrounded by his loving and supportive family, his Mom and King Dad, and siblings Heather, Shannon, and Jeremy. Tyler will be remembered for being unique and charismatic, his undeniable faith, his infectious laugh, and his big bear hugs. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, November 4, 2017 at First Church Congregational, WH at 2:00 p.m. Tyler’s family would like to thank all his health care workers throughout the years, especially Danielle, who made a connection with Tyler that will never be forgotten. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Tyler Claflin Memorial Orchestra Award at Conard H.S., 110 Beechwood Rd, West Hartford, CT 06107, Attn: Cathy Jordan.
