Barbara Jane Maillet (Egan) Gasparini , 94, of West Hartford, died October 27, 2017. She was born on August 20, 1923 in Hartford, CT, daughter of the late Gladys Brown Maillet and Percy Rayfield Maillet. Barbara graduated from Bulkeley High School in 1940 with High Honors and was a member of the National Honor Society. She went to work for Connecticut General Life Insurance Co. (now CIGNA) in September 1940, eventually becoming Secretary to the President, and retired in 1982. It was during this time that she met the love of her life, Richard A. Gasparini, who also worked for CIGNA, and they were married on April 12, 1971. Barbara leaves one sister, Florence E. Maillet and two stepchildren, Robert and Carlita Gasparini and Carol A. Hazan, as well as her Husband Richard, three grandchildren, Scott and Alida Gasparini, Lindsey Gasparini, and Connor Gasparini; two great grandchildren, Kayden and Cambria, and numerous nieces, nephews, and great friends. She was predeceased by 4 sisters and one brother. A special Thank You to the outstanding staff of West Hartford Health and Rehabilitation Center for their loving care and support of Barbara from the moment she arrived ,Mary, Jenny, Maria, Terry, Marilyn, and many others. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, (Oct. 31), 10:00 am at the Church of St. Helena, Echo Lane, West Hartford. Burial will be in Rose Hill Memorial Park, Rocky Hill. Calling hours will be Monday, (Oct. 30), from 4 to 8 pm at the Sheehan Hilborn Breen Funeral Home, 1084 New Britain Ave., West Hartford. Online condolences may be made at www.SheehanHilbornBreen.
