Claire  Clyde (Fiut) (Laflamme)
Claire Laflamme Clyde (Fiut), 87, of West Hartford, passed peacefully into eternal life on October 27, 2017. She was the beloved wife of the late George A. Clyde of Glastonbury, and was the daughter of the late Theodore and Marguerite (Mathieu) Laflamme. She was predeceased by her brothers, Joseph Reginald "Rex" Laflamme, Joseph Marcel Laflamme and Brother Reginald Theodore Laflamme. Claire was born on September 4,1930 in Hartford, where she was raised and graduated from Hartford Public High School in 1947. Claire lived most of her life in West Hartford.
During her working career, Claire was employed at the Underwood and the Royal Typewriter Union Office in Hartford. She also worked for The Home Builders Association of Greater Hartford, Mingus Associates in Farmington and at the Aetna in Hartford, where she retired from and later moved to Melbourne, FL.
Claire was an accomplished seamstress, needle pointer and embroiderer. She loved to travel, twice making her way around the world. She adored her Bichon Frises, Noelle and Jolie.
Claire is survived by her loving family, two daughters, Carol S. Ferris of Wake Forest, NC and Jill St. Sauveur of New Britain; her beloved grandchildren, Kristin Ferris of Farmington, Eric Ferris of Wake Forest, NC and Jennifer Hearon of Boston, MA; her great-grandchildren, Ashley Ferris and Kenan Ferris of Wake Forest, NC and Molly Hearon of Boston, MA; sisters-in-law, Julia Laflamme of Enfield and MaryAnn Laflamme of Georgetown, FL ,along with many nieces and nephews.
Visiting hours will be held at the Sheehan-Hilborn-Breen Funeral Home,1084 New Britain Avenue, West Hartford, from 4 to 6pm on Thursday, November 2. A Mass of Christian Burial will be at the Church of St. Helena, 30 Echo Lane, West Hartford, on Friday November 3, at 11:00am. Relatives and friends are welcome.
Interment will be private.
