Gerard  Tardif
Gerard Tardif, 91, of Hartford, beloved husband of Edmay (Michaud) Tardif, entered into God's arms peacefully on Wednesday, November 1, 2017. Born in New Brunswick, Canada, he was a resident of Hartford most of his life. Prior to retiring at the age of 80, he was employed by the Cote Company and also, the W.T. Whale Co. Gerry was a master carpenter and a patient teacher of his craft. He enjoyed doing repairs at his children's homes and was a devout catholic. Besides his wife of 62 years, he is survived by his children, Jim Tardif and his wife, Charlene of Bristol, Rick Tardif and his wife, Andrea of Tolland, Kathy Brandon of Hartford and Glen Tardif of Hartford; eight grandchildren, Jesse Tardif and his wife, Jessica, Dillon Tardif, Travis Tardif, Jeff Tardif and his fiancé, Trish, Scott Tardif, Anna Brandon, Emile Brandon and Shannon Brandon and a great-granddaughter, Gabriella Tardif. Gerry is also survived by two brothers, Edmer and Melvin Tardif and two sisters, Esmay Gavin and Hilda Dufour. He was predeceased by a son, Gene Tardif; a son-in-law, Dean Brandon; three sisters, Edna Cote, Ann Jorden and LoriAnn Tardif and several sisters-in-law and brothers- in-law.
Calling hours are Sunday,(Nov. 5), from 4 to 7 pm at the Sheehan Hilborn Breen Funeral Home, 1084 New Britain Ave., West Hartford. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, (Nov. 6). 10:00 am at Our Lady of Sorrows Church, Hartford. Everyone is requested to meet at the Church. Burial will follow in Cedar Hill Cemetery, Hartford. Memorial contributions may be made to Our Lady of Sorrows Church, 70 New Park Ave., Hartford, CT 06106.
