Obituary for Gilbette "Gee" Anderson (Braun)
Gilbette (Braun)"Gee" Anderson, 98, of the Elmwood section of West Hartford, beloved wife of the late Andrew V. "Andy" Anderson, passed away on Saturday, November 11, 2017 surrounded by her family.
Gee was a lifelong resident of West Hartford and was an active member of St. Brigid Church where she was in the choir and Ladies Guild (the Fun Night shows were her favorite). Over 20 years, she was the collection point of meat loaves for the House of Bread. She also volunteered to call members of the parish to wish them Happy Birthday, of course she had to sing the whole song to each and every one of them! For a little lady she had the biggest heart and a personality to match. She will be remembered for her contagious laugh, her love of family and friends and her caring spirit.
She was a wonderful mother to her four children, Robert Anderson and his wife Karen of Farmington, Denise Blackbourn of Plano, TX, Thomas Anderson and wife Laura of San Antonio, TX, Eileen Landry and her husband Ray of West Hartford; loving grandmother to, Greg and his girlfriend Erica, Ryan, Kristen, Alyson, Joey, Emily and Jake. She also leaves a sister, Angie Scheuy of Rockville and her best friend for most of her life Mary Anderson of Granby. The family would like to thank Cary, Jessica and Quaneesha for their attentive, trusted care, companionship, and many hours of Scrabble play.
Funeral procession will be Thursday, (Nov.16), 9:30 am from the Sheehan Hilborn Breen Funeral Home, 1084 New Britain Ave., West Hartford, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial, 10:00 am at St. Brigid Church, West Hartford. Burial will be private. Calling hours will be on Wednesday (Nov. 15), from 4 to 7 pm at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the House of Bread, 27 Chestnut St, Hartford, CT 06120 or to a charity of the donor's choice.
