The Memorial Candle Program has been designed to help offset the costs associated with the hosting this Tribute Website in perpetuity. Through the lighting of a memorial candle, your thoughtful gesture will be recorded in the Book of Memories and the proceeds will go directly towards helping ensure that the family and friends of Gilbette Anderson can continue to memorialize, re-visit, interact with each other and enhance this tribute for future generations.

Thank you.

Condolence: Please accept our sincerest condolences for Aunt Gee. As a child, I remember her often at my grandparents house (Robert and Cecile) and Aunt Gee was always joking, singing and just a fun-loving person to be around. Since moving to MA, we don't get back to the area as much as we'd like, but she did meet my 3 kids and husband a few years ago. They adored her and our intention was to get back to see her again. They loved her animated stuffed animals, her giant personality and warm hospitality. She will be missed. You are all in our hearts and prayers. Love, Jim, Lisa (Phil & Colette's youngest daughter)

Condolence: When I think back to my memories with Gee Gee, I am constantly reminded of what a kind, lively, exuberant, and beautiful soul she had. She blessed the lives of people in all that she did, spreading joy and laughter wherever she went. Gee Gee's laugh is one thing I know I will never forget. It was contagious...the kind of laugh that makes everyone else in the room feel the purest form of joy in their hearts. It was also constant. No matter the day or situation, Gee Gee was always finding something to laugh about even in times when her health made it difficult. She'd sometimes drive herself into coughing fits just for the opportunity to make others (and herself) laugh hysterically. As far as grandmothers go, you couldn't ask for someone better. Hours of card games and spanking machines were an every day occurrence when I'd come to visit Gee Gee. I don't know for a fact, but I think Gee Gee also had a minor passion for organizing impromptu sing-along's. She would start to sing a song and you couldn't help but to sing along with her. Not to mention that she always sang with her whole heart and with an energy that was infectious to everyone in the room. My personal favorite of hers was "You are My Sunshine," but this was just one of the many songs she was famous for. I didn't get to see Gee Gee as much as I would have liked to. If I was lucky, I would come up to Connecticut once every other year, but all the same I am immensely grateful for the times that I did get to spend with her. I am blessed to have had such a strong and beautiful grandmother for as long as I did and I will hold close and cherish my memories of her forever. This world is a little less bright without our Gee Gee in it, but I know that she at peace and reunited with Papa which is the thought that comforts me during this time. I know that throughout the rest of my life, I will be provided with little reminders of Gee Gee. When I look up at a full moon. When I hear her favorite song. When I'm out shopping and see a 100% cotton shirt with some type of floral design (her favorite). And when I think of her in these moments, I know I will be smiling and thankful for the time that I got to have with my amazing Gee Gee.
