It is with sadness that the family of Anna S. Malootian announces her passing on November 16, 2017 at the age of 98. She was the widow of Harri, mother of daughters Judith, Diana and son-in-law Peter. She was sister-in-law to Anna and Mark. She was "Muffy" to her precious grandsons Andrew and Alexander. She was sister to the late Julia and Lillian; sister-in-law to Albert; aunt to Steven and Joellen, Anne, Charlene, and Roy; cousin to David and Nancy, Lillian, and Lillian and her late husband David. Her niece Linda pre-deceased her. "Anna Banana" was also held in mutual affection by her many "daughter-friends," including Pramila, Carolyn, Janice, Homa, Debbie, Elena, Hyacinth, Nicky, Ruth, Anna, Maria, and Kathy.
Her life made a difference, especially through devotion to community activism, altar guild and volunteerism, especially Food Share. She gifted others with music, humor, great food and good parties.
Anna's family wishes to thank the extraordinary nurses, doctors, respiratory therapists and staff, PCAs, palliative care team and Hospice at Hartford Hospital for their tender care and skill. They also wish to express their gratitude to Dr. Timothy Curley, Dr. M. Reza Mansoor, and Dr. Eric Rosenburg who kept her independent and active for these many years.
Funeral Service will be Tuesday, (November 21, 2017), 11:00 am at the Sheehan Hilborn Breen Funeral Home, 1084 New Britain Avenue, West Hartford. Burial will be private. Calling hour will be from 10:00 to 11:00 am prior to the services at the funeral home. Memorial gifts in Anna's memory will be gratefully received by the Musical Club of Hartford.
