Obituary for Margaret "Peggy" M. O'Brien (Boyle)

O’Brien, Margaret “Peggy” (Boyle) entered into eternal peace on November 22, 2017 after a courageous battle with Parkinson’s Disease and cancer. Peggy was born in County Sligo, Ireland, on July 10, 1936 daughter of Thomas and Mary Boyle and was predeceased by her husband, John O’Brien. She was a resident of West Hartford for many years and a communicant of St Thomas Church. Peggy worked at Aetna Life Insurance Company before her retirement. She was an avid baker and will always be remembered for her Irish Soda Bread and apple squares. She is survived by her son, Kevin of Middletown as well as five siblings: Thomas Boyle of Middletown, John O’Boyle of East Hartford, Brendan Boyle and his wife, Kathleen of West Hartford, Eileen Rogers in Middletown and Kathleen Fiala and husband Robert of Colchester.
Peggy showed extreme courage during many medical challenges and taught all of us about strength and love of the human spirit. We wish to thank the staff at Apple Rehab in Middletown for all the kindness and concern they extended to Peggy which made her journey more comfortable and pleasant.
Family and friends are invited to gather at the Sheehan-Hilborn-Breen Funeral Home, 1084 New Britain Avenue, West Hartford from 8:30-9:30 a.m. prior to a 10:00 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at Saint Mark the Evangelist Church, 467 South Quaker Lane, West Hartford on Thursday, November 30. Burial will follow in the family plot at Fairview Cemetery in West Hartford.
