The Memorial Candle Program has been designed to help offset the costs associated with the hosting this Tribute Website in perpetuity. Through the lighting of a memorial candle, your thoughtful gesture will be recorded in the Book of Memories and the proceeds will go directly towards helping ensure that the family and friends of Coach Robert McKee can continue to memorialize, re-visit, interact with each other and enhance this tribute for future generations.

Condolences

Condolence From: Cornelius Lynch
Condolence: I would like to express our belated but no less heartfelt regrets to the families of recently deceased Robert McKee at their loss. Colleagues briefly at Conard as he approached retirement, I really got to know him as members of the Conard ROMEO luncheon group. A mutual interest in World War II led to many conversations with him on various aspects of the mega event, including readings I thought he'd find interesting. l was impressed at his maintaining a curiousness regarding a variety of areas despite his advanced age. He was a wonderful raconteur and the model of a true gentleman. Please accept Sharon`s and my sympathy.

Condolence: When I first went to Conard I discovered that it was an honor to live next door to the well-loved and respected Coach. Before long it was so much more than that and I loved him like a favorite uncle. He had a way of making anyone he spoke to feel incredibly special. My children grew up knowing him as a great artist and the sweet man who lived next door to their grandparents. We loved him and we're proud to have some of his paintings hanging in our home and think of him daily.

Condolence From: Don McMahon
Condolence: Coach McKee was my coach for football and wrestling ’63-’65. His coaching and conditioning allowed me to have my most memorable moments at Conard including 2nd and 1st at states in wrestling. He was a great motivator and was a particularly good conditioning coach. I am particularly sad that I was unable to express to him my gratitude for being such an important person in my life even though it was for only a few years.

Condolence From: Jim Works
Condolence: Coach McKee was a maker of true men that continues to pay forward today. I was privileged to play football under his leadership during his last four seasons and frequently remember the list of expectations on appearance and behavior he required of us on that very first day of double sessions as a freshman. It was about how you handle yourself on and off the field and that is what he measured you by, not whether you won or lost. His assessments and guidance helped make me the man I am today and guide the youth I have shared his wisdom with to help them grow. My prayers are with the family during this time of loss but celebrate his returning Home to be with Jesus.
