The Memorial Candle Program has been designed to help offset the costs associated with the hosting this Tribute Website in perpetuity. Through the lighting of a memorial candle, your thoughtful gesture will be recorded in the Book of Memories and the proceeds will go directly towards helping ensure that the family and friends of Vincent Gagliardi can continue to memorialize, re-visit, interact with each other and enhance this tribute for future generations.

Thank you.

Condolence From: Lewis Bosworth
Condolence: It seems like only a brief time ago - yet it was last May - that I shared a Mother's Day table at the Hynes' home with Vincent, Spring, Margo and Jessica. Later during my visit we went to the Museum where Vincent shone as the knowledgeable docent he was. I often wonder now how Vincent put up with the blather about high school days than Spring and I engaged in. He was a patient man. If I were to construct a memorial to him, it would be many flats painted in a rainbow of colors joined together by cables of silver, lighted by seasonal bulbs shining down on stage right. Looking up, there would be an open skylight with a view of the sky above. Music would be from a glockenspiel hiding in the wings. Vincent - if I may address you - this is only temporary. We are all going to join you in just-a-matter-of-time. Fear not! So settle in and brush up on your cloud types; polish your wings, and grab a copy of Whitman or Auden to help pass the time. Arrivederci, Vincenzo!

Condolence From: Jan Tomas
Condolence: I will always remember Vince for his easy gentle manner. He told wonderful stories of his childhood in New York City, and left an impressive body of work in the theater.
He gave me a personal tour of the New Britain museum where he was a docent and taught me great deal about contemporary American art that day.
Another time he squinted at a R.C. Gorman print on my wall and announced it had some value because the signature was real. I often think of Vince when I look at the picture with greater appreciation.
It will be easy to remember Vince, the pleasure he enjoyed with his grandchildren, the travels during retirement, and his place beside Spring.
Please know of my sympathy at this time of great sorrow to Spring, her daughters, sons-in-law, and her grandchildren. -jan

Please know that we will remember Vincent and his entire family in a special way at our next school-wide Mass. We are very sorry for your loss. ~ Jane Leary, Director of Constituent Relations.
