Joan E. (McCaffrey) Hill , 70, of Elmwood, passed away suddenly on Saturday, Jan. 6, 2018. Born in Hartford, CT, Joan resided in Elmwood, CT her entire life. She graduated from Northwest Catholic in 1965. She was most recently employed as a Senior Tax Advisor at H&R Block for over 25 years. Joan was a most beloved mother and friend, and a confidante and cheerleader to all. She was an avid knitter and gardener, but her truest passion was taking care of others and helping those in need. Her generosity and kindness was unlimited. Joan leaves behind three daughters and their spouses; Linda and Eddie McKernan, Kimberly and John Simmons, and Michelle and Justin Hallenbeck. She also leaves behind four cherished grandchildren; Eddie, Kellie, and Nicholas McKernan, and Lucas Hallenbeck. Joan was predeceased by her husband Robert F. Hill Jr.
Calling hours will be held on Thursday, January 11, 2018 from 4-7pm at the Sheehan-Hilborn-Breen Funeral Home, 1084 New Britain Ave. West Hartford.
