She also leaves many friends including her best friends, Linda Pelligrino, Carol Johns, and all of her “buddies” from “Compassionate Friends”. We would be remiss not to mention her love for the dogs in her life leaving behind her best friend Tiny, Sweetie, Tino, Reese and Jolene. Betty dearly and deeply loved us all.
Betty came into this life on December 12, 1934 the youngest of four children born to Edward and Eva (Roy) Gendreau of Torrington. She had a strong (and sometimes stubborn) French Canadian spirit with an intense love and passion for life, family, people, laughter and music. She endured tremendous heartache in her lifetime with grace. Her generosity was abundant, her stories were outrageously hilarious, her laughter was contagious, her cream puffs were to die for, her compassion for her family and total strangers was heartfelt and her ability to find the good in everyone was enlightening.
