Vasmattie Devi (Ramdharry) Kallicharan, 75, of Wethersfield, wife of the late Sewpersaud Kallicharan, died Tuesday, March 6, 2018 at Middlesex Hospital surrounded by her loving family. Better known as Sabita, to her nearest and dearest. She was born in Guyana, South America, and had lived in Hartford for 24 years, then moved to Wethersfield for the past 14 years. Sabita was very passionate about her culture and family, a proud Hindu woman who was a member of the Shri Krishna Mandir of Hartford. She never went a day without expressing her deep love for her grandchildren, children, family, and friends. She is survived by her two sons, Amrit Persaud Kallicharan and his wife Gayatree Kallicharan of Wethersfield and Bisnauth Tony Keshwar Kallicharan and his wife Suzanna Kallicharan of Wethersfield; four daughters, Sandy Carroll of East Hartford, Melinda Punancy and her husband Barrington Punancy of Miami, FL, Indranie Kallicharan of Hartford and Hema Coleman and her husband Michael Coleman of Haddam; her brother Beram P. Ramdharry of Coventry, her sister Savitri Naraidoo of Hartford, 17 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. Calling hours will be Sunday, March 11, from 5-9 p.m. at the Sheehan Hilborn Breen Funeral Home, 1084 New Britain Ave., West Hartford and the funeral will be Monday, March 12, from 9-11a.m. at Sheehan Hilborn Breen Funeral Home followed by the burial at Cedar Hill Cemetery 453 Fairfield Ave., Hartford.
