Elizabeth Hickey passed away Sunday, May 27, 2018 at Avery Heights, Hartford. She was born October 10, 1922 in Brooklyn, New York and was the youngest of four children. Both her parents were from County Clare, Ireland. She worked for over 40 years at New York Life Insurance Company. After retirement she worked about 7 years in the Registrar's Office at Marymount College. She lived in Manhattan for most of her life. She loved animals, especially dogs. Her one fault was that she was a die-hard New York Mets fan. In 2009, she moved to Avery Heights, was very active, played poker, made friends and excelled at Wii bowling.

Her nieces and nephews always consider Elizabeth their "cool aunt" who had a devilish sense of humor. They and her grand and great grand nieces and nephews, 43 in all, will remember her fondly with love.

Her family would like to thank the staff and her friends at Avery Heights, and the people of Masonic Care for the attention and love they have shown to her, especially in this past year.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday (May 31), at 10 am in the Church of Saint Brigid, West Hartford. At her request there will be no calling hours. A private interment will follow.
