Obituary for Lisa Hanson Picard

Lisa Hanson Picard
Lisa Hanson Picard, 57, went home to be with the Lord on November 7, 2016. Her passing was sudden and peaceful, and her gentle kindness and selfless love for others is what we will miss the most.
Born and raised in West Hartford, and a 1977 Conard graduate, Lisa eventually worked for Cigna and then United Health Care. Lisa held a strong loyalty and love for family and friends. Nurtured by her parents’ love of music, she enjoyed playing the violin and piano, and music remained a passionate element throughout her life. Her interest in snowmobiling manifested her adventurous side, and she cherished places of serene, natural beauty such as Maine and Italy. She joins her mother, Jessie Hanson (Cessidia di Pillo) her step-mother, Anne Koscielny Hanson, and her sister, Karen Hanson. She leaves behind her father, Raymond Hanson, of Shelburne Falls, MA; her beloved son, Michael Picard of East Hartford; her sisters, Krystyn Kelley of Bailey Island, Maine, and Cecile Audette of Baltimore, MD; brothers-in-law, Dana Kelley and Jim Audette; nephew, David Veslocki; nieces, Heather LaCasse and Renee Audette; grand-niece, Olivia LaCasse, and grand-nephew, Drew LaCasse. Visiting hours will be held at the Sheehan-Hilborn-Breen Funeral Home, 1084 New Britain Ave, West Hartford, on Friday, November 11, 2016 from 4:00 - 7:00 p.m. A Memorial Service will be held at the funeral home on Saturday, November 12, 2016, at 10:30 a.m. Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery, West Hartford.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the CT Humane Society, 701 Russell Road, Newington, CT., in honor Lisa’s love of animals. A dear friend stated, “she is (now) in “her ‘cabin’ with a porch and a rocking chair, looking at the glorious mountains and seas in Heaven.” Those left behind will miss her greatly.
