Obituary for Leonard A. "Lenny" Dannahey

Leonard A. "Lenny" Dannahey of Newington, formerly of Wethersfield, husband of the late Carmela (Cosgrove) Dannahey, died Tuesday, November 29, 2016 at St. Francis Hospital and Medical Center. Born in Hartford, son of the late Patrick J. and Myrtle (Fryer), he had recently resided at Cedar Mountain Commons in Newington. Lenny is survived by a son, Brian J. Dannahey and grandchildren Courtney Dannahey and Kyle Dannahey of Fairfax, Virginia; sister-in-law, Nancy Dannahey of Rocky Hill; sisters-in-law, Patricia Roberge and her husband, Donald Roberge of East Hartford and Catherine Cosgrove of Newington and several nieces and nephews. Lenny was predeceased by a brother, Norman Dannahey.
Funeral procession will be Saturday, December 3, 11:00 am from the Sheehan Hilborn Breen Funeral Home, 1084 New Britain Ave., West Hartford, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial, 11:30 am at the Church of the Holy Spirit, 183 Church St., Newington. Burial will be in Mt. St. Benedict Cemetery, Bloomfield. Calling hours will be prior to the funeral procession from 9:30 to 11:00 am at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Connecticut Children's Medical Center's, Brighter Hope Campaign for the New Cancer and Blood Disorder Center, 282 Washington St., Hartford, CT 06106 or to a charity of the donor's choice.
